Since the glory days of the Yankees dynasty (1920's - early 1960's) corresponds to the time the Lo V's were in service. maybe someone is trying to invoke the past to get the Yankees another championship :-)

Interesting to note that the remains of the old 9th Avenue El connection/Polo Grounds Shuttle structure leads right into the new Stadium location - so MUDC's and such rolled right through the site, too!

I suppose it's the Subway Series shtick, but the Museum fleets Lo V cars have been cruising back and forth by Yankee Stadium
today.

Actually no (but it was a nice touch). Today was a scheduled Transit Museum Nostalgia train trip "4 Train to the Bronx".

This is the 40th Annual "Bronx Week"celebration.

The cars in use today: 5420, 5483, 5290 and 5292.

JS-Good advance notice about a upcoming NYCT Nostalgia Special to Yankee Stadium on Opening Day...
Why they did NOT use the term SUBWAY CARS to describe the vintage equipment is beyond me...

I have grown to strongly dislike the awkward term "Train Cars" that is being unfortunately used more
frequently in this day and age...My reply when someone uses that dreaded term is two words:
"What Kind?" - First there are Passenger Cars that people can ride in and Freight Cars of many
types to handle the commodity that they are designed for: Box Cars and Tank Cars are examples...
(end of rant and description to those that are unaware)

Will Mets Opening Day at Citi Field next month get equal billing from NYCT for the 7 Line Army fans?
In any case the NYC MLB baseball rivalry will be back soon for the 2024 season...MACTRAXX

Maybe LIRR can field some heritage equipment? 😜
More than likely they will send the "Train of Many Colors" (TOMC) over to the Flushing as they have done in the past.

For those who may not be familiar with the TOMC, it is made up of subway cars in the NYTMs collection which used on the IRT (A Division) and are painted in the colors used during the main period these cars were in service. There are 19 cars available so they will use at least 10 of them (possibly add a R33s to make it 11 as was done on the 7 line).
