Yesterday, I climbed a stairway of rust and peeling paint to the 242nd Street terminal of the Broadway-7th Avenue local, the #1 train. At the top of the stairs, this sign proclaimed that the $6 million renovation would be completed in June 2012.

Apparently, the $6 million is for canopies and new platforms at five stations. No elevator for 242nd Street.
