Hey everyone. I was searching through the forum and didn't see anything of recent regarding the two Comet III's cab cars Metro-North purchased (or reacquired?) from NJ Transit, 5009 and 5010. The last photos I found of them date to 10/2008 at the Croton Shops. These were the only two Comet III's ever purchased by Metro-North, but were traded to NJ Transit in the 1990's for two Comet II cab cars, and ultimately returned to Metro-North in 2008. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

incompatible, due to long doors and to much would need to be switched over, from door key's to locks to seats etc
rewiring of cab due to third rail switching and remote starting etc etc etc.

Any particular type of inspection getup (geo car, so they don't have to borrow the Corridor Clipper?)...or just a couple general-purpose cars covering the whole spread of in-house inspection tasks?

Interesting, in the last photo it appears that they have at least started some of the transformation project on one of these cars. Is there any reason why this project has been delayed for 8 years now?
