MBTA Subway/Commuter Rail Models

IIRC as delivered the RDCs had various sound- and vibration-absorbing pads at key points in the trucks; the brand may have been 'Fabreeka' which seems to still exist. The character of the Boise Budds' ride led me to guess that their pads had been replaced with solid steel blocks.

I've read about the suspension mods elsewhere, that sounds about right!
Got a bit confused about my thread moving, although I am planning to model the Boise Budds, I'm really only interested in prototype information at the moment...

I have a pair of Maheno LRVs and would like to repaint them in MBTA green .

Does anyone have a brand and name/color number that would match or should I just get something that looks good?

Also, any suggestions on decals?

I would think any dark/dark(er) green would do just fine. If your eye tells you it looks good enough then I say go for it.

As for decals this is good place to start though it doesn't provide that many "T" logos:

CustomTraxx http://www.customtraxx.com/ has decal sets for PCC's, they might be useable for LRV's as well, at least the circle T logos.

A Miniature World of 1950s Boston Was Uncovered in a Toronto Basement

In 1980, Ivor Walsh started a project he’d work on for the rest of his life.

Every day for 20 years, he meticulously crafted a miniature replica of the Boston streetcar system. Modeling it after the cars’ 1950s-era design, he installed the small city in his basement—in Toronto.

I wish they had more pictures of the layout, but what is shown is amazing. Now is the time for some wealthy transit fan to volunteer to purchase the layout and bring it to Boston!

When I saw those it made me wonder if I did the right thing picking the 1950's for may layout.
Pantograph overhead would have been much easier than pole type which can be very finicky.
