There is no reason to retrofit equipment with AC propulsion, or trainline silvers with 1800's. The first set of silvers to go will be the 1500's which leaves the 16s and 17s to run together. By the time the 16's have to go, the new order of red and orange line cars should be well underway. The silverbirds are still going strong and when the 1800's were having severe propulsion issues (with 22 cars OOS), the silvers picked up the slack and ran the line almost flawlessly, with few delays due to lack of equipment.
