Discussion relating to commuter rail, light rail, and subway operations of the MBTA.

They may be riders to a master document. At the very least, I know that there would have to be a clause releasing the MBTA from all liability. If that's not on these forms, I'm betting that they're riders to a master contract between the MBTA and Seashore.

In the quite possible event that no 0600 ever runs on the Blue line, is there anybody who knows or can find out what the date of the last revenue service was and which cars it was?
Unfortunately, this is something that is probably lost to history.

I imagine these would take less work to get running then the boeing LRV?

For sure! Just add poles :-) These cars are rare for Seashore because most don't come operable. Like the Red Birds, these should be operational is short time. Next years Transit Day should be a good one!

I was just in East Boston a while ago tonight, and when I was taking a left from Route 1A by the cross on the hill to go toward Orient Heights, on my left I see a Blue Line car on a flatbed, stopped in the middle of the road blocking the traffic while trying to turn onto 1A North, and the driver getting out walking toward the back of the trailer. I wish I had my camera.

On the way home, I saw the same arrangement now accompanied by a police escort going south along Revere Beach and pulling into the Wonderland stop's parking lot.

Anyone know what the deal with this was? I'm a noob but figured I'd let people know...heh

It was one of the older 0600 cars, it didn't appear to have any trucks on it either.

It's probably a safe bet to say that it was either 0618 or 0619, both of which NETransit lists as sold for Scrap in September and awaiting removal from Orient Heights. So, it sounds like it was heading off to the scrap yard :(.

No cars were removed from the property for scrap. That was one of Seashore cars headed North :-)

I'd be willing to bet that pictures will be forthcoming.
