So, there are 3 tracks running from just north of Andrews running up to Track 61. I assume they are the connection for the Red Line testing. What was their former function? Storage? Are there plans for them after the new cars enter revenue service?

CSXT referred to it as 'New Yard'. We used it to run around the empties from The Boston Globe. Also, back in the early 2000's, Boston Railway Terminal received steady deliveries of flat cars of steel for The Big DIg, as well as for the construction of the new convention center.
