Indeed. In the eyes of Massachusetts General Law, a trackless trolley is a streetcar and so is not subject to the documentations or inspections required of motor vehicles. Therefor, given that the report above regards the trackless trolley portion of the route your objection is sustained! :P

The transit way is also a "Subway" so as long as a bus delay occurs in the transitway or in the Harvard tunnel it's on topic.

A deuce of Type-7s (D) became disabled westbound midway between Government Center and Park Street at 8:45 this morning. I was on an (E) behind it; we sat for 25 minutes while "...officials are heading to investigate; we apologize for the inconvenience." No T-Alert.

Once the disabled got moving, they parked it on the wall track, so all service was routed to the fence track further slowing service.

Not a great start to service:
Shuttle buses replacing Red Line service between North Quincy and JFK/UMass due to a power problem. Customers are encouraged to use Commuter Rail from Braintree and Quincy Center to South Station.
Service resumed at around 6:30, according to the MBTA's Twitter.

WCVB reports that a maintenance vehicle derailed though, damaging the track.

Severe delays on the Blue Line this morning. The Blue Line is operating as single track between Government Center and Maverick.

The Red Line is operating as reduced speeds.

As the late Paul Harve would say, here's a strange.

Saturday August 25, one of the Orange Line bus shuttle days (Ruggles to Back Bay shuttle this day):

Boarded the train at Forest Hills on the "outbound" platform around noon.
Train went wrong-rail all the way to Ruggles, with appropriate announcements from the motorman at the stops.
A train going the other way passed (of course) on its wrong rail (somewhere around Jackson Sq.).

Final stop at Ruggles on the outbound platform where the train changed ends.

Return trip late in the afternoon, train was going on "the correct rail" although before that, pulling into Ruggles on the outbound platform and changing ends. Passed an inbound using its correct rail. So the wrong rail operation could not have been due to unavailability of a more favorable crossover movement inbound of Ruggles.

So you had two trainsets on two tracks. Why would you cross anything over? You got on the same train both times.

Blue Line, Green Line, and Orange Line experiencing delays of up to 15 minutes due to a power outage in the downtown area. Trains are standing by.
This could get ugly... somehow the Red Line isn't affected.

Edit 8:24 PM:
Maverick and Bowdoin Stations are closed due to a power outage in the downtown area.

"Due to a disabled train at Aquarium, single track operation is in place between Bowdoin and Maverick. All service will board on the eastbound platforms." Nov 27 2018 09:55 AM

This morning I was on the last car (#0717) and the pantograph went up in the tunnel between Maverick and Aquarium. The train jerked to a complete stop. We had to wait until maintenance folks arrived to lower it. There were fears it would be ripped off. Train was finally moved very slowly to Aquarium and then went out of service.

Not a great day for the Red Line today. 3 instances of trains with mechanical issues plus shuttles from Quincy Adams to Braintree because of a power outage.
