The Providence Journal is reporting that there will be free train service to the Rhode Island Air Show in June
WARWICK, R.I. — The state will run free trains from Providence and T.F. Green Airport to Quonset State Airport in North Kingstown during the annual Quonset Air Show next month, the chief executive of the state airport agency said Wednesday afternoon at a public meeting.Since this service is being paid for by RIDOT, and being operated over Seaview tracks, it is assumed that MBTA equipment will be used.
Parking at the airport's commuter rail station on Jefferson Boulevard will be free for the air show service, according to Peter A. Frazier, chief executive of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, the state agency that runs Green, Quonset and four other state airports.
The air show, run by the National Guard Association of Rhode Island, also serves as an open house for the National Guard and as a fundraiser for Hasbro Children's Hospital. It is scheduled for June 11-12, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
