Another example is Williamstown CPF-428 which allows for moves in North Adams from #1 to #2 track etc without having to knock 22 miles of signals down or give out a Do Not Pass.

West Deerfield was another example but was petitioned and removed as it serves no purpose any longer.

It was explained to me a long time ago at Winchester Tower. My father was picking up his check, and I started asking the operator about various signal aspects. The operator said to me, "Kid, it's either stop or go."

Can't say. He worked Winchester, but perhaps moved out of the job before retirement. This was back in the late 60s at Winchester, I think.

Stanley did work Winchester at one time, so its probably him...

Don't remember the "Chicky" nickname though...

My uncle called him that; I think they went to high school [Melrose] together, so perhaps that's where it came from.
