Observant rider "Garden of Deletin'" (‏@ehthayer) spotted what I think is a good example of engine burn at Grafton station.

Probably caused by wheel slip from 'slippery rails?'

Back in April we thought there was a case of engine burn in Concord, but we could never confirm it. We found this extreme example of engine burn for comparison:

Rail grinder? No. Get a Thermite gang or a rail gang with a Pettibone and a couple of 18 foot plugs. Cut, drill, bolt, . . . bing, bam, boom, done.
