Last week, I had the pleasure of seeing the track geometry car, #3448, sitting on the fourth track or so from the busway at Riverside. Does anyone know if it's being used nowadays, or does anyone have experience operating it? I'm fascinated by its capabilities.

According to the vehicle inventory in the latest issue of BSRA's Roll Sign magazine, none of the three LRV work cars can presently operate under their own power, but they can be towed to wherever they're needed.

Unfortunately, many components used in the LRVs are no linger in production. And unlike a Type 5 or PCC, the parts cannot be duplicated by competent blacksmiths, machinists and electricians.

NETransit says the re-railer and geo car are "awaiting repair". Don't know if that's wishful thinking by the Riverside shopkeepers or not.

MOW vehicle is dead and probably not coming back from the dead.
