LYNN-Funds to ensure that the Blue Line rapid-rail expansion project moves forward were reauthorized by Congress Friday in a new federal Transportation Bill.

This is good news but we could still need more money and support to really get this project to reality.

a study, as long as it is worthwhile, is good news. Anything to keep the extention on the frontburner of transit improvements is good.
And after this summer's DNC, Lynn and Revere will be begging for the extention(with good reason).

They are already begging for it, for fifteen years straight. The DNC will change nothing - Lynn residents will use the same method mostly used in "normal" times: a bus to wonderland. It's the rest of the Newburyport/Rockport line riders that are going to start begging for the extention as well, as they are the ones who would be dumped off at Lynn and will have to experience first-hand how frustrating and inconvenient it is to get from Lynn into Boston...
