Active means in service with MARC. Units marked as "stored" are stored at the Riverside shops.

This is to the best of my knowledge, and may not be 100% accurate. Additions and corrections are welcome.

10 old engines still in service? I thought they were all supposed to be gone.

I'm surprised that there are that many in service as well. Units marked as active were last known to be active, while some units were seen in a deadline at Riverside. If they are not seen in service in a while, unless they are seen in the deadline, then there is no way to know if they really have been retired, or if they just have not been seen in a while.

Here's some pretty recent videos (none of which are mine) of most of the recently active units:
56
57
58
60 and 71
68
69 (at 4:10)
70
72

The only one that I can't find a recent video of is 54, but here's a picture (not mine) of it just over a week ago.

I think that the 39's will be saved for non-revenue service, but I could be wrong.

Thanks and what is going to happen to the GP40WH-2s are there any other railroads looking to buy them?

They are now owned by MPI, who is looking to sell and/or lease them. Five of them (and a sixth, as a parts units) are leased to the MBTA. A small handful are still running on MARC. The rest are sitting around waiting for something to do.

Thanks, are the ones still running on MARC going to stay running on MARC?
