That schema makes sense as plugging the route up Wisconsin Avenue into A route Red line south of Tenleytown would require totally rebuilding the station to be identical to Rosslyn to accommodate the flying junction.

I also wish that Metro were freer to imagine incorporating VRE & MARC routes in operations similar to the "London Overground"
I have always admired this map by David Alpert at GGW for its "whole system" thinking. I also think his "new Blue" is pretty well thought out (I wanted a connection at Dupont, he doesn't partly for better station spacing).
