Due to all the delays caused Positive Train Control (PTC) and last Thursday when trees fell on the CSX tracks, VRE has run out of Free Ride Certificates.
They have issued an emergency order for them.

Data is not available for May, but for April, On-Time performance fell to an all-time low of 30% on the Manassas Line. It was 70% on the Fredericksburg Line.

VRE still does experience problems with PTC. A conductor said VRE isn't the only one suffering from problems with PTC, as other US railroads are having problems with it.

When you don't order them - they don't get printed and you run out!
