While Amtrak trains pass by the L'Enfant Plaza station, none stop there - only Virginia Railway Express commuter trains stop at L'Enfant, and VRE doesn't operate on weekends.
The only DC Amtrak station is Union Station; getting off at New Carrollton or King Street, Alexandria would require a subway ride - too far to walk.
