Someone better at math than myself should be able to calculate the month (if not week) where we're likely to see the last 1k car carted off, no? 16 cars a month, starting with this August for instance, is 192 cars removed by August 2017 (16x12). Factor in what has already been disposed of (20-30 cars?), and we're well into 200's by this time next year. I think it's safe to say December 2017/January 2018 will be the end of the 1k fleet. If the rate of 7000-series delivery stays on track, I can see them pulling 1000-series cars from revenue service even if they cannot dispose of them at the same time.
