Work train sighting - 3/24/04

I was dropping a friend off right near the Merritts Rd trestle on the Central branch about 4pm when I saw MP15 #168 leading a 65' gondola (red) with LONG ISLAND painted on the side and #170 on the rear heading west. Anyone know what this was for?

I saw that same setup probably about 10 minutes prior to you seeing it, as it was passing by the shopping center in West Islip (westbound).
I haven't a clue what it was for, but it was an attention-getter.
