Back in the early 1990s,when the first double deckers came out, they were pulled by 2 GP-38s.The train that had them, was a Port Jeff train, that left Jamaica at 5:12PM.
This engineer blew the horn nonstop through all 3 crossings at New Hyde Park and at Mineola. He wuld start to blow his horn earlier than any engineer I have ever heard. It did not matter if he was gong 65MPH or 30 MPH,he would blow the horn nonstop through these crossings.I have a videorecording from 1993 where the horn is continous for almost 50 seconds.Does anyone remember this engineer?
