I've noticed new moveable frogs replacing the older stationary ones along LIRR trackage. When did the LIRR start installing them and will they eventually replace all of them? I can assume these cut wheel ware and noise traveling over the gaps. Am I right to say that they are mechanically connected with the switch so both move simultaneously? I have to admit that the look like tuning forks!
