I have a Long Island Rail Road Historical Data page. http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/lirrhi ... aldata.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
One of the sections is LIRR Car Load Reports. A terrific view of locations, industries, loads, and yearly volume. Really fine for historic/modeling purposes, IMO.

My earliest is 1977: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/Carloa ... 201977.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone have an idea how to obtain others? Anyone with earlier vintage then my earliest 1977 issue (which actually has 1973-1977 on it)? Thank you. :-)

Yes, Guys.. This ties into my view of the 2nd Transition Era (I believe DumptheAir coined this phrase a few years back, BTW): 1965-1985. It's little modeled, yet a large quantity of freight/motive power is on the market. I'm gathering photo spotting of cars/locations/loads and this type of info is invaluable. I've asked around for earlier Car Load Reports as the mid/late 1960's early 1970's is vital.

Here's just a small sample of the what I'm doing based on photos:
LI City Yard A
West Chemical 4 dome tank car 1974
Southern rib side 50'box 1977
SOO Line rib side 50'box 1980
Santa Fe rib side 50'box 1981
PC ribbed side 50' 1974

Sayville 1970
50' Miller Beer FMC 12 ribs, no roofwalk, ACI, white for Quintree Beer Distributors

LI City Yard A 1971
40' BN Covered Hopper
50' SF Boxcar
50' SP Boxcars
50' Railbox

The info is raw, just an example. Is there any interest out there from a modeling/historical view to work this concept/thread/etc.? Thanks.
Here's a starter: LIRR Freight after 1966: http://www.trainsarefun.com/lirr/Freigh ... 201966.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Let me know.
