409 Is Coming! (Again)

409 is now at North Platte, NE. It is scheduled to leave North Platte at about 23:30 tonight, and arrive Proviso on Saturday about 11:00. I will try to keep everybody posted if I can.

And no, 411 is not on it's way, nor does it appear that it will be in the very near future.

Departure for 409 has been pushed back to the 18th at 23:30, arrival on the 20th at 11:00.

I don't know when or where 409 is going after it's shakedown runs. Metra makes no plans or schedules. They operate spontainiously.

Also this an 411 are the same units that were wrecked a year ago. They are not new production.

409 arrived Proviso at 03:45 this morning. It will probably be by Wed of next week before it's interchanged with Metra.

It could get lost at Proviso for up to a week. Who knows.

I would guess it will turn a wheel sometime after the holiday's.
