How does one purchase a senior fare on BART or Muni? Here in Boston, one needs to go to a specific place to get a senior card for reduced fares. I'm coming to SF in February, so if I have to obtain a special ID card, can it be done by mail? Or is it just show my driver's license when I pay the fare?

On SF Muni you can use the senior Clipper card, or just pay the $1 cash fare. No driver has ever asked me for ID.

When you pay cash on Muni, the driver hands you a paper transfer that you stick in your pocket, as a fare receipt, even if you're not going to transfer.
