Bombardier To Assemble 145 Locomotives For Electro-Motive Diesel
Berlin, December 19, 2007 Latest Agreement Will Add To More Than 1,200 Locomotives Delivered Through Operations In Mexico
Bombardier Transportation announced today that it has received an order from Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. (EMD) to assemble 145 SD70ACe EMD locomotives. The order, valued at approximately 66 million euros ($94 million US), is based on a framework agreement signed between the parties April 3, 2007. The contract calls for fabrication of sub-parts and assembly of the locomotives at Bombardier’s production facilities in Sahagun, Mexico. Deliveries are scheduled to begin by mid-March 2008 and take place through the end of the year.
