EMD, for at least part of its time as a GM subsidiary/division, used Du Pont paint (brand name: Imron) on its locomotives. For much of this time there was a stock ownership link between GM and Du Pont (I forget whther it was GM owning a chunk of Du Pont or Du Pont owning a chunk of GM -- I guess I'd guess the latter if asked to guess). This ownership link was found, in the ???1960s???, to contravene the anti-trust laws, and the courts ordered a divestiture. Anybody know if this led to a change in EMD's paint purchase system? Were any post divstiture EMD locomotives painted with non-Du Pont paint?
