When ATSF rebuilt their SD24 fleet into 2,625hp SD26s, did they retain the same generator (D22?)? If so, what was considered the max hp capacity of an EMD DC generator? I know the GE models were good for 2,800hp.

The D22 was the oldest, followed by the D32. The D32 was used on a Conrail GP 39T-2 order late 70's - early 80 and was rated @ 1500hp. If I remember correctly the D22 was rated at 1000 hp....
