A new premium intermodal train has been added to the UPRR lineup.

The ZLCAT, originating from the LATC, or "L.A. Shops" and will terminate in Atlanta. UP will depart via Alhambra Sub to West Colton then the Sunset Route to New Orleans. UP will then interchange the train to the Norfolk Southern who will arrive the train in Atlanta. The train plan calls for UP to hand off the train in New Orleans within 72 hours of initial departure. Highball, indeed.

UP will operate this train as an "extended haul." First scheduled refueling stop will be El Paso, TX. Next fuel stop and 1500 mile Class I car inspection will take place at Kirby, TX, just outside Houston.

The train plan calls for scheduled departure daily at approximately 0400, and the train will run as often as freight is available.
