Question for any crews that have to set up or deal with DPUs: Is it important to know the direction the DPU unit, such as a single unit, is facing? Does someone on the rear have to inform you of this fact? If not how does the system determine which direction to move the DPU. If the head end is in forward (don't worry about multiple units facing more than one way at this point) and the system would tell a rear facing DPU to go forward that would be the opposite direction. How is this taken into consideration and compensated for?

As for multiple units in DPU I suspect it is like MU operations, one unit is set up to be the master and the others all MUed goes the way it leads electrically.

Hows all this work?

Direction of the DPU unit had to be known at the time of setup, if memory serves.
