Unit Train Activity - Nephi Loop - Utah

Here is a view of UP unit train serving a feed unloading facility south of Nephi, Utah, 7/26/2009.

The cool thing about this job is delivering the train to the plant and seeing the "engineer/operator" of the train take it from the UPRR crew wearing shorts and tennis shoes. The guy who was doing it a few years ago when I worked for the UP was a retired engineer doing this gig as needed.

You don't want to stand around while the corn is unloading. It is awfully dusty and get into everything. The break room upstairs where the UP guys sit and wait for the Coach America van to bring them back to SLC is just covered with corn dust.
