I got back from a vacation and when I was in Grand Junction (by the Amtrak station) there were likely over 50 UP locos in the yard all coupled together. A bunch were old switchers and geeps, and a few gray u-boats (I'm guessing). Does anyone have any idea what the fate of these are?

The grey Units are remote control "shoving platforms"that can turn any loco into a remote controlled switcher
by MUing to it. Used in yards and on local switching runs with ONE man crews using a"backpack" type remote controler. :(
Grey units were stripped of everything, except for the cab and the remote gear installed in the long hood.("zombie unit" )
