I have been looking at a lot of aerial maps and photos of the SP Great Salt Lake causeway. It seems there are a lot of photos of the place. What is the best way to access this causeway. On the west end at Lakeside it appears the road crosses through a military base. Are these roads open or do you have to drive around the base? Is there any better point to access the causeway, the middle strip of land or the east end?
