Is anyone nervous that with the Hurricane supposively hitting this weekend, that the NYSW will try to abandon more of the line, particularly from Port Jervis to Binghamton? If there are a lot of washouts and mudslides, it may not be worth them repairing the line for 2-3 round trips a week.

well unless we get hit directly i dont see anything happening. especially since they don't own the line, NS does. Now back in 2007 we had that nasty nor easter. there were washouts and all were repaired.

We arent going to get hit by a hurricane this weekend..
just a lot of rain..
its an EX-hurricane by the time it makes it up here! ;)

We get rain storms like this every year..usually not a big deal at all..
with the notable exceptions of Diane (1955) and Agnes (1972) hurricanes seldom do much
damage by the time they make it this far north..
they have lost their wind, much of their rain, and they generally roll through quickly.
