I had hoped to get some pics of the SD70M's before they left town for the New England Central (NECR), and i wasnt disappointed. There was a CN/BNSF set of power parked along side the NYSW units, which made photgrasphic opportunities limited at best. I was able however to grab a few images as we left the enginehouse, so here they are:

The 4050:

The 4054:

All three units:

Finally, a nose shot of the 4052; the only shot i could get of the unit:

As an "added attraction", here are a few Non-NYSW images taken at work:

K678-19 in teaneck on track 1 awaiting permission to move further south:

K678-19 on the approach to "Upper Bay" the lift bridge at the eastern throat to Oak Island yard in Newark:

A view of the lift bridge itself, in the lift position:

And finally, a view of CP-1, where the River Subdivision meets the Conrail Northern Branch. the building on the right is the cNYSW customer who ships out the big grey TLAX garbage cars on the 99's:

Thats it for now.... enjoy!
Awesome shots, man!!! Ain't it nice to get shots from the inside?? :-) Nice job!! :-)

Ok thanks for the clarification, I do know I have seen photos of the 4054 in service, but not the others. I was told they were working as well though.

I believe that the NYSW SD70M's have not been used on New England Central since March. NYSW 4052 and NYSW 4054 were used, but NYSW 4050 remained OOS. Word has it that the SD70M's are going to Binghamton shortly.

Is the NYSW going to use them, or are they going into a "Dead Line" in Bingo? I've heard both from reliable sources. Apparently one is about to be more reliable than the other . . .

I saw 3 sd70m's at St Alburg Vt today. One (didnt get the number) was off with some geeps by the sand towers and the other's were assembling a train in the yard. It was hard to see them since there is not much access to the yard.

Yes. End of lease activities are taking place prior to shipping.
Thank you.
