Hi all

I was wondering how NS power usually gets to MA. It can't be through CSX because the coal trains come through Hoosac Tunnel to get to Guilford's East Deerfield yard.

NS has trackage/haulage rights on D&H & Guilford from Binghamton, NY to Waterville ME, I believe.

As you can see on their system map here, they operate the Southern Tier line through Binghamton. Yes -- they're headquartered in VA, but operate where you see the green lines on the map on the other end of the link I posted. They get to NY on those green lines that represent the tracks they own.
