NS Christiansburg district question: Corning siding active?

I attended Virginia Tech back in the 90's and was just looking at some recently added aerial imagery on bing maps of the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area. I remembered the siding running behind the New River Valley Mall into the Corning plant, and saw that it appears to be abandoned despite new crossing surfaces at the US460 grade crossing. To be honest, I don't even know if it was active when I was there. Is anyone here familiar with the area I'm talking about?

No problem! If only there were passenger rail service down there, I'd visit my alma mater more often!
