- Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways in 2006. Discussion relating to the current operations of the Boston & Maine, the Maine Central, and the Springfield Terminal railroads (as well as the Delaware & Hudson while it was under Guilford control until 1988). Talk in some other forums has the oil trains possibly making a comeback sometime soon. Something about Irving losing oil contracts and gaining new one etc..

Canadian sourced crude oil shipments by rail are increasing:

And Canada's currently rocky relations with Saudi Arabia haven't impacted the shipment of Saudi crude to Irving in Saint John ... yet.

But I would guess should there be an increase in crude by rail shipments to Irving's Maritimes refinery, it would be via either CN directly to Saint John or CP to Port of Albany where it would be transloaded to barge for shipment to Saint John.
