If they are whitelined, thats pretty much the final nail in the coffin of a locomotive. All thats left is to find a scrapper/dealer to sell it to for disposition. It is possible it would be sold to a dealer, maybe for use as a core for rebuilding to a genset or something. But yes, whitelines mean a locomotive is done serving its current railroad.

As for their current disposition, I've seen multiple reports that put them dead at Waterville, and 1 that has them whitelined.

Whitelined just means that they've been stricken from the roster and will be disposed of. That could mean scrapping or it could mean selling them. They have sold many locomotives in the past. Whether a locomotive is sold or scrapped depends on several factors, such as its condition and whether or not there is an interested buyer.

Has something changed, last thing I knew there was no "Pan Am Railways" facebook page.

It's not official, seeing as how that page is constantly asking questions that begin with "when", and "how many".

It is with a heavy heart that I report that the last 2 MEC GP-7's on the roster have been scrapped.
#15 (568) & 12 (592) were scrapped recently. Other than the 573, the only possible remaining unit
I can think of is one that was at a musuem or tourist line in PA that went defunct. I think it
was ST 22. naybody ahve any info on this?
