The primemover is a 645D.... take a look at the other discussion you started in the EMD forum.

What other discussion? If you mean the GPF39-3 discussion I do not see how that can help me.

All 80 of Santa Fe's SD24 locomotives were rebuilt at the San Bernardino shops. The rebuilds were completed between 1973 and 1978. To upgrade the 567D3 engine the railroad used 645 power assemblies instead of the orginal 567s. Also included in the upgrade were new traction motors, upgraded wiring including the Dash 2 circuit cards and extended range dynamic braking. Source of data The Santa Fe Diesel Volume One by Dr. Cinthia Priest.

Guilford purchased the remaining 35 SD26s in January 1987.

First there was 80 SD26s then 35 now (I think) 4. That must have been a lot of scrapping or wrecks.

keep asking keep learning

Santa Fe wrecked one of the rebuilt SD26s on the Sulphur train in Texas. Another 44 were traded in to EMD on 15 new GP50s. That left the 35 that Guilford bought. One of those was wrecked in transit to Guilford and was replaced by an ex-CSX SD35. That's another story.
