A disabled older friend of mine would like to see a train going into or out of the Hoosac Tunnel. Does anyone know the approximate schedule of trains running this line? Thanks in advance.

I have seen this question asked before and the answer is always the same.
There is no set schedule, but I have had the best luck in the early mornings during daylight and mid to late afternoon. If you have a scanner, tune to the road channel and westbounds are announced by a hot box detector in nearby Zoar. There is a N. Adams local each morning and a coal train can appear anytime.
