The southern Rtes 12/140 junction in Wrest Boylston has been milled for repaving. The Oakdale OHB is getting deck work, and traffic lights for single-lane operation were in place sometime before 0420/04-18-2018. Dunno for how long.

Would be nice if the track itself could see some work. The line needs 30,000 or so ties, and some CWR in selective places to bring the line to Class II.

Earlier this week on some off-hours and frenzied comings and goings I did note on one occasion at Temple Street a white hi-rail Pan Am pickup truck parked adjacent to the crossing, and later that same day at Shrewsbury Street sighting a visi-vested and hard-hatted presumed Track Department type employee walking and visually inspecting track while the same hi-rail truck was put away on the former Ziff Paper siding. Whisperings are that a tie job or other work is pending prior to MBTA Green Line Extension and also Commonwealth Avenue Bridge replacement work that will impede use of the Grand Junction and force north-south commuter and Downeaster equipment moves to go the long way this summer, as they did a couple years ago when the Charles River Bridge needed a workover.

Before 0420/05-07-2018, the Oakdale OHB had nominally been restored to 2-lane operation. Nominally cuz the traffic lights may be gone, but the warning signs, cones, and a need for final paving are still there, the last probably to be done under detail closure.

Sorry, CPF363, didn't look like any of the much-needed tie-work got done.

See attached photo of MBTA note mailed to towns along the Worcester Main for some good news (likely thanks to the largess of Massachusetts taxpayers...)

Messages boards were up wither side of the Oakdale OHB 05-09-2018 advising of delays and paving for 05-11.
At the Rte.s 140/I-190 interchange, the lights were back on at the staging area, and flood-lit work was going on in Sterling on I-190 SB, so repaving is getting closer.
