This locomotive was painted up as a billboard and strategically placed along the route of the Boston Marathon in Framingham, MA.

That's kinda neato ! Thanks for sharing. I never knew that Conrail went this far in publicity stunts. As a former runner, i can tell you the mental focus when running long distance in competition will render this useless advertising to the competitors.

Now allow me to shift gears if you will... Since Norfolk Southern took over much of Conrail, and created a plethora of specially painted locomotives, would it not be outta line if NS painted one for staging next to a big BBQ Cook-Off in the Deep South with the slogan "Git' Er Done !" painted on it ? :P
