we just watched this and ....well......WOW very very cool ending (clap clap) nice

We live in Mission, B.C. , Canada ( a key point in CP line) and I still can't figure out why it doesn't stop here at the old station location (burnt down buy kids playing with matches) tons of room and lots of ppl would show up.

The CP Holiday Train will be running down the IC&E mainline, possibly with a fully decorated IC&E SD40-2 on the point! If they do in fact use the IC&E SD40-2 it will probably tied on in front of the normal train, but just when it is on the IC&E and DM&E.

CP Rail's acclaimed Holiday Train made its run north up the ex-D&H mainline in Northest PA and Southeast NY on Friday November 28th, 2008. Opening celebrations were held at Steamtown Nat'l Historic site in Scranton, PA, which included charitable donations and live entertainment. After getting the clear from the CP South Dispatcher, the CP Mobile Holiday Train lead by AC4400 #9824 heads north up the CP Sunbury Sub under the billboards on US Rt 11. Continuing north, the Holiday Train made a scheduled stop at Nicholson, PA on the famed Tunkhannock Viaduct, where it was greeted by railfans as well as the locals, numbering in the hundreds. After proceeding north, the Holiday Train is seen at CPF 631.3 (Milepost 631) at Summerville, PA making all of track speed. The Holiday Train is last seen rolling through "Binghamton Container", and finally rolling to a stop at the north end of Binghamton Yard at its 9:00PM arrival at Binghamton, NY, the northern end of the CP Sunbury Sub. Shot on 11/28/08 by Brian Reese.

Both the Canadian and US Holiday Trains are partly comprised of Royal Canadian Pacific business cars, which house the entertainers throughout the trip. The last day of the train was terribly cold, but the band played on.Image I don't know how they did it, but those crazy friends of mine played with as much zest as ever.

Here's a glimpse of the "American" train near Lacolle, Qc rolling at a good clip on nov 26 2009; always quite a sight when coming out of darkness: click on thumbnail for bigger picture: EDIT: Damn! For some reason, the thumbnail stops displaying after awhile; so just click on the empty thumb to still get the picture... :(

My family rode the Holiday Train from Saratoga to Whitehall (centre of the universe). They enjoyed it. My son is 3, and he is a big train buff. He says that HE works for the D&H. I on the other hand, was moving Canada's commerce.

Here's tonight's power( US train) #9824 resting by the shop at St Luc. Unfortunately the
consists all dressed up & lit up has been parked between cars where shop crews
finalized details so, next to impossible to get a half decent shot. When I left
last night, both Canadian & American flags were flying proudly . The
consolation prize is the Canadian ``Holiday Train`` all lit up. Btw, few nice &
shiny brand new 8900's ES44AC resting as well.
