CP is having Progress Rail in Mayfield, KY rebuild and upgrade 30 of its remaining 58 SD90MACs into SD70ACu locomotives similar to the ones that NS is rebuilding. Exact details are not known yet. When finished they will be numbered
7000 - 7029. The first core locomotive CP 9134 has reached St. Paul, MN on its journey to Mayfield, KY.
