Are the signals on the Leithton Sub (ex-EJE) speed control or route control or a mix? They look to me to be all "pure" speed control but most of my experience has been railfanning BNSF and UP and some of the mast and head configurations on the J look unusual to me.

They are all route control now. In the EJ&E days, they were both and CN had to put out special instructions for signals on the former EJ&E territory.

Now all of the ABS at speed signals have been replaced.
