Accident appears to have occurred between CNIC's Freeport and Chicago subdivisions, and due to cars blocking the Metra tracks at 16th St., all AM rush hour service was annulled on Metra's Rock Island district, while additional emergency trains were added to the SWS, HC, and electric districts. Metra's website indicates that it was a coal train that derailed. Any more info on this?

BNSF coal train coming off of the St. Charles Airline to the Chicago Sub. Rumor had it that a bad wheel rode up on one of the frogs, but who knows for sure.

I think they only ran one extra train on the Heritage Corr. had nine cars, big train for the HC!

CN had to detour M332 over the IHB to get to Markham Yard.
