Whenever I'm railfanning around Seattle, I always catch a crude oil train. Does anyone have any idea how often they come through and where they're coming and going from?

They head north on the Bellingham Sub to either the two refineries on the Anacortes Spur or the two on the Cherry Point Sub. The frequencies can vary, but I would expect 1-3 each day based on refinery capacity. They come from somewhere in North Dakota.

And before someone jumps on me; I do not work in the rail industry and that information has been spread widely by NIMBY groups in local newspapers.
