Here is that photo and previous photos of the same unit.

I have only seen a Burlington Northern Santa Fe SD40-2 in Cascade Green. Looks like they started painting the narrow nosed locomotives in H1 and jumped straight to H3

Man, i am glad to see BNSF decide on this paint scheme. It makes the new CSX paint job look sooooooo much better

Not that I ever had a problem with the CSX paint, I liked it from day one.

Actually, that is really H1 with the new logo and black instead of green. Still doesn't have the H2/H3 multiple stripes, which I guess is the main difference now.

Ge makes good toasters thats about it. Anywho seen more of the SD-40's in this new image then the GE units! Wonders when they will be painting one of the old SD9's down here that image :-D I can only hope.

I am just glad we have SD-9's on the roster period. At the time of the BNSF merger there were 100, we are down to 53 now, One GP-9 1600 ex-BN 1702 nee-NP 202, BNSF 1619 and BNSF 1625 are stored there 3 out of 4 GP-9B's left the 1700 and 1701 are out running and the 1703 is LUGO. An end of an era for classic BN power is at hand.

Yeah we have a lot of the SD-9's here in Galesburg, most still running. I had a dash 9 and 2 sd-9s for a hostling assignment the other night. Wanted to spin em and put them at the head end.
Have a lot of old power ( give me that any day) here in town. Yeah 9's are all right till you really need to get moving. Damn things shake and rattle so much it isnt funny.

I had the BNSF 7612 on the point the other day, it was 8 days old! Would have rather had the 6112 though. :-D

Hey, I'm all for seeing the Cadillacs and other vintage geeps in H3, but how much longer are they going to be in service on BNSF? (Not nocking the idea, who would have figured they would have held onto the ones that they already have for this long? It's just me being a cynic.)

Still, one can dream and I, for one, would like to see that dream become a reality. :-D

Komachi,
Some SD9's were rebuilt as recently as 2001 I saw one leading MBRCGAL.
