Looking for a railroad radio frequency? Check this first!

There are often posts at this forum such as "What frequency does the Podunk, Tank Town & Goober City Railroad use?" Below I have provided a number of links to railroad frequency lists available on line. Often a little research will yield the desired result.

That being said, there are two caveats:

1. The website may not have the latest frequency change(s) incorporated, so that information may be outdated.

2. Some railroads have begun dispatching by cell phone. Here in southern Maryland, along CSX's Popes Creek subdivision http://www.traingod.railfan.net both are used, with no consistency as to why or when one mode (radio vs. cell phone) is preferred.

Additionally, if you aren't hearing the desired broadcasts, you may be too far away.
