While moving this weekend I did manage to shoot a couple of trains Sunday
morning and make it over to see the Amtrak Anniversary train at Meridian. All
in all not to bad and I'm settled in atop the hill at MP195. Looking forward to
hiking over and setting up the Capture Cam as soon as this track work is done. I
if you didn't know I have a live scanner feed running over at radio reference.
How did I ever get moved????

NS 225 came by while the track gang was in the clear. NS A55 came by later that afternoon and stopped for a signal at MP195. Heard it bang the slack out and took off to get the best shot I could. Got my new monopod today so you wont get sea sick watching anymore

On Friday Amtrak 20 had to back all the way to Tuscaloosa Siding and hole up for its meet with Train 19. This was after it had made it station stop so Train 20 arrived and departed Tuscaloose twice in one day! I'm sure this has happened before but it was the first time I had witnessed it. What made this especially interesting was how I came to know they would meet in such an unusual way. I was listening to my live internet scanner feed at work on my phone using the scanner app. Isn't technolory great!
Woke up too early this morning so I headed and and got NS 219 with a trio of Belles leading the way then NS 393 as soon as the block was clear.
Amtrak 20 backed in behind NS 345 at Coaling to wait on Train 19. Got both of them after the meet and then chased 345 to MP195

NS 339 was stopped just short of MP 195 waiting for NS A37 to finish its days work and get in the clear. I waited for almost an hour and the late evening light went away before 393 got the clear and proceeded into Tuscaloosa. This train had a freshly painted SD70ACe in the Belle scheme as well as two Ferromex units in tow. I did manage to get picture with my camcorder so the quality isn't great

Amtrak 20 and 19 met at Tuscaloosa Siding today. Train 20 piloted by Big Mo and Ted got there first just as Train 19 arrived at the Tuscaloosa Depot. They didn't have to wait long before Train 19 crossed the ABS Interlocker and got in the hole so Train 20 could continue on. Lots of good audio on this video as Mr. Excuses (Big Mo)told me my hat was in his other bag ( I think he's still a bit upset abouth the National Championship Game).
Next up is Train 19 backing out of Tuscaloosa Siding to continue its trip to New Orleans. Lots of good audio on this one too as the conductor and engineer talk to the dispatcher and back the train out of Tuscaloosa Siding. The engineer on that train, I believe his name is Mike missed his true calling and should have been a radio DJ.
All in all a great day trackside provided by both crews of the Cresents. Well done ladies and gentlemen.
And let us not forget about NS 345 that was running a block ahead of Train 19 and had a great piece of old school power in the lead

As always I'm dragging butt when it comes to getting the finished product out of the cutting room. Here are the last couple of weeks offerings. So old they're almost relevant again.

Enough KCS powered trains from Saturday and Sunday to make single video. NS 340 are seen on both days along with either NS 220 or a 24 train on Sunday
